About Ensight, Inc.

At Ensight we try to emulate Yogi Bear’s famous words of being “better than the average bear.” It’s a phrase Ensight founder Mark Lilie uses often, and it is our rallying cry to strive for excellence in everything we do, from engineering a design, to project documentation and client communication.

We enjoy working with clients of all sizes who want to collaboratively explore design options for their buildings. We practice sound engineering, but also view engineering as an art, rooted in creativity and possibility.

Mark Lilie, P.E. founded Ensight, Inc. in 2007 with the goal of putting the client’s vision at the forefront of the engineering process. The Ensight team has earned a reputation as a valuable design partner and nimble problem solver. Ensight partners with owners, architects, developers and general contractors to turn vision into reality.

About Mark Lilie, P.E.

Mark has been practicing engineering almost his whole life, beginning with elaborate machines and intricate buildings constructed entirely of Lego® bricks. He earned a BS in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University where he honed his problem-solving ability, something he considers an art. Mark spent the first 9+ years of his career at prominent Houston structural engineering firms working on intricate and diverse building projects before founding Ensight.

“What makes me different from many engineers is that I prefer to avoid completing things ‘the hard way.’ When faced with a complex problem, I first step back rather than focusing on the problem itself, and look for a better way to create the same result. My goal is achieving the vision, not just solving the particular problem.”
